A hypodermic needle was reportedly found inside a loaf of bread that was purchased at a Somers Stop & Shop supermarket, New York State police said.
The discovery was reported on Oct. 25 by a Mahopac woman, who contacted Carmel police that her 15-year-old noticed it while he was eating toast, police said. The bread, which police said is from Bimbo Bakeries, had been purchased on Oct. 23.
Both the supermarket and the bakery was told about the report, as well as New York State's Consumer Product Tampering database and Westchester County's department of health, police said.
Police also stated that people with information about report can call 914-769-2600 to reach Investigator Cornelius Merritt.
