Two Teen Girls Caught Shoplifting Leggings: Yorktown Police

A 17-year-old Lake Peekskill resident and a 16-year-old Putnam Valley girl are due in Town Court Aug. 12 to answer charges of petty larceny.

Police said they received a call from Sears at 4:17 p.m. July 11 reporting they had two shoplifting suspects in custody. Officer Lauren Raczynsky was sent to the mall, where she arrested the two girls after an investigation.

It is alleged that they tried to walk out of the store with two pairs of leggings valued at $46—for which they had not paid.

They were released without bail to their parents.

Their names are being withheld by police because they are eligible for youthful offender status.
