Two Men Charged with Felony in Theft of 6 Coffee Makers at Macy's

The information was provided by the Yorktown Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Two men are due in court on Tuesday to answer felony charges accusing them of stealing six coffee makers from a department store, Yorktown police said.

Amos Harris, 45, of Maybrook, and Donald Gordon, 42, of Newburgh, were charged with fourth-degree grand larceny, a felony.

Macy's security personnel reported to police on Nov. 16 that two males had stolen six Keurig coffee makers, valued in more than $1,719, before fleeing the mall. A description of the suspects and the vehicle was radioed to patrol officers.

Officers O'Rourke and Pavletich were able to locate the vehicle and the suspects at the A Plus Mini Mart on Lee Road, police said.

Both men were arrested, processed and remanded to the Westchester COunty Jail without bail. Harris and Gordon were scheduled to appear in Yorktown Town Court on Nov. 20.

First of all, I don't understand why teachers are paying for anything out of pocket when the supplyRead More lists that parents receive at the end of the summer are as long as their arms. Secondly, SOCIETY lets the kids down?!?!? I think the school taxes in Yorktown should be sufficient so that the teachers don't have to pay any out-of-pocket expenses. SOCIETY does not let the kids down, it is those who are in control of the school tax monies who let the kids down. Perhaps the administrators should take salary cuts, or maybe we should even eliminate some of those administrative positions. No teacher should have to pay for supplies out of pocket.
