A 58-year-old Cortlandt Manor man is facing a felony criminal sex charge after he was arrested on Friday for an incident that allegedly took place in his home in 2010, state police said.
State police, in conjunction with investigators from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, arrested Richard Dinizo and charged him with first-degree criminal sexual act. The arrest took place at 7 a.m. on March 15.
Police said Dinizo was active as a volunteer coach for a private girls basketball team in the Westchester area dating back to, at least, the mid-1990s. He allegedly committed the act in his home in 2010.
Police declined to give any more information about the incident, but are calling for any other potential victims to come forward.
The Putnam County Sheriffs Office, the Putnam County District Attorney and the Westchester County District Attorney’s Office assisted with the investigation.
Dinizo was arraigned and sent to Westchester County Jail without bail. He is scheduled to reappear in Cortlandt town court on March 22.
