State Police Arrest Shenorock Man, 20, Following Somers Car Crash

A 20-year-old Shenorock man is facing a number of charges in Somers following the hit-and-run property damage car accident on Miller Avenue Monday night that led to a police chase and a helicopter search, Somers state police troopers said.

The man was arrested on Tuesday, Aug. 6 at approximately 7 p.m. He was charged with third-degree attempted assault, a misdemeanor; and was also issued several traffic tickets, including leaving the scene of a property damage automobile accident.

He was scheduled to appear in Somers Town Court on Aug. 26.

The single-car crash, that damaged a homeowner's property, led to a police chase and a helicopter search after the vehicle's four occupants fled on foot, police said.

The occupants – three men and one woman – got out of the car and got into an altercation with the homeowner, who had come out of the house to look at the damage, police said. Then, they fled on foot.

Police have not announced any other arrests.
