"Words cannot express the sadness which fills our hearts in Lauren's absence," the Spierer family wrote on their Facebook page on Dec. 31, 2010. The Spierer family has retained private investigator Bo Dietl, a former New York City police detective. Rob Spierer recently told television station WNYW that new information has been unearthed their daughter's case, but did not provide further details.
