A man and a woman are facing felony charges after state police troopers in Somers found cocaine, heroin, marijuana and brass knuckles in their vehicle, state police said.
Somers state police pulled over the vehicle for speeding on I-684 in the town of Bedford on Sept. 14. In it, police found more than 125 "rocks" of crack cocaine, almost 250 decks of heroin, a marijuana cigarette and brass knuckles.
As a result, the female driver – 29-year-old Shenika M. Edwards, of Brooklyn – was charged with two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a felony; fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a misdemeanor; and unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation.
Police said the male passenger, who had no identification, and who represented himself as 32-year-old Clerance Moss, of Brooklyn, was charged with two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a felony; and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a misdemeanor.
A check of his fingerprints revealed that Moss was wanted by the Philadelphia Police Department for attempted murder and aggravated assault for a shooting incident that occurred in July in which he used the name Brandon McCall, police said.
Additionally, Moss is being held for Pennsulvania authorities as a fugitive from justice, police said.
Edwards and Moss were arraigned in the North Castle Court and remanded to the Westchester County Jail on no bail, police said.
They were scheduled to appear in the town of Bedford Court on Sept. 19 at 7 p.m.
