Somers Troopers: Man Had 9 Oxycodone Pills, Drug Residue on Aluminum Foil, Smoking Pipe, Plastic Grinder

A 43-year-old Carmel man is due in court next week to answer drug charges in Somers, state troopers said.

Police said the man's vehicle was parked on the side of the road on Old Route 100 in Somers on Sept. 24 at about 5:38 p.m. When a police officer went to check on the man's welfare, it was revealed the man was in possession of nine Oxycodone pills, aluminum foil containing drug residue, a plastic smoking pipe, and a plastic grinder.

He was arrested and charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor.

The man was scheduled to appear in Somers Town Court on Sept. 30.
