Somers Mother Charged with Endangering Welfare of 2 Daughters

A Somers mother of two children, ages 10 and seven months old, has been arrested for endangering their welfare after she got into a domestic dispute with their father, Somers state police said. 

The woman was arrested on Dec. 1 when police responded to the scene. She was charged with two counts of endangering the welfare of a child and second-degree harassment.

"She is accused of endangering the mental, moral and physical well-being of her daughters, ages 10 years old and seven months, as well as striking their father," police said in a statement. 

The woman was arraigned before town of Somers Judge D. Timone and remanded to Westchester County Jail, in lieu of $1,000 bail. Orders of Protection were issued for the children and their father.

Child Protective Services is also investigating the incident at the request of the state troopers.
