Somers Car Crash Suspects Flee, Police Chase Them by Helicopter

Somers state troopers are investigating a single-car crash in Somers that damaged a homeowner's property Monday night. The incident led to a police chase and a helicopter search after the vehicle's four occupants fled on foot, police said.

Police said the accident occurred around 9:20 p.m. on Aug. 5 when the driver damaged a homeowner's property on Miller Avenue in Shenorock.

The occupants – three men and one woman – got out of the car and got into an altercation with the homeowner, who had come out of the house to look at the damage, police said.

Then, they fled on foot.

None of the vehicle's occupants have been located yet, state police said.

The town of Somers issued the following alert on Tuesday: "Police with the aide of a helicopter searched the area with negative results. Police are conducting an ongoing investigation. Contrary to rumors, no Lincoln Hall residents are involved in this incident."
