Santa's Candy Cane Run in Cortlandt, Yorktown

The Lake Mohegan Fire Department will assist Santa during the annual holiday candy cane run, which will be held on Saturday, Dec. 8 and Sunday, Dec. 9.

The fire department, which covers parts of both Yorktown and Cortlandt, will drive a fire truck through the streets over the weekend while Santa gives out candy canes to each child.

Residents can take pictures with Santa as children tell their last minute Christmas wishes. Due to safety concerns, firefighters ask that all those who wish to see Santa to be at the location approximately 10 minutes prior to the arrival time, so there aren't any children running in the streets or around the fire trucks.

Times may be delayed and/or cancelled without warning due to any fire or EMS call that firefighters need to respond to.

"The men and women of the Mohegan Vol. Fire Assoc. wish to extend our greatest appreciation to our community for your continued support throughout the year," Chris Gravius, of the Lake Mohegan Fire Department, posted on the department's website.
