Police: Yorktown Woman Cited for Suspended License

She's stopped for a defective brake light.

A 22-year-old Yorktown resident was cited for driving with a suspended driver's license after she was stopped for having a defective brake light, according to Yorktown Police.

The Locust Road resident was stopped at 2:45 p.m. on Dec. 14 on Gomer Street when a town officer noticed the problem with the 2000 Audi she was driving. Police said a computer check found that the woman's license had been suspended.

The woman was cited for the equipment violation and also aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and driving with a suspended license. She was released pending a Jan. 24, 2013 hearing in Yorktown Town Court.

First of all, I don't understand why teachers are paying for anything out of pocket when the supplyRead More lists that parents receive at the end of the summer are as long as their arms. Secondly, SOCIETY lets the kids down?!?!? I think the school taxes in Yorktown should be sufficient so that the teachers don't have to pay any out-of-pocket expenses. SOCIETY does not let the kids down, it is those who are in control of the school tax monies who let the kids down. Perhaps the administrators should take salary cuts, or maybe we should even eliminate some of those administrative positions. No teacher should have to pay for supplies out of pocket.
