The following information was provided by the Yorktown Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Three Cortlandt Manor men are facing criminal charges in Yorktown for allegedly being in possession of stolen merchandise from various stores, said.

Garfield P. Holland, 19, Allen C. Agbamu, 19, and Augustine O. Agbamu, 21, were charged with fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, a misdemeanor.

The three men were arrested on July 24 when Yorktown police observed three suspicious individuals in the mall's parking lot. Police said the men left in a vehicle, but were soon stopped by another police officer for a vehicle and traffic infraction.

Investigation revealed the defendant were allegedly in possession of assorted merchandise, having a total value of $309.55, which was stolen from stores located inside the Jefferson Valley Mall, police said.

The men were arrested and transported to Yorktown police headquarters for processing. They were later released and scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 23.

First of all, I don't understand why teachers are paying for anything out of pocket when the supplyRead More lists that parents receive at the end of the summer are as long as their arms. Secondly, SOCIETY lets the kids down?!?!? I think the school taxes in Yorktown should be sufficient so that the teachers don't have to pay any out-of-pocket expenses. SOCIETY does not let the kids down, it is those who are in control of the school tax monies who let the kids down. Perhaps the administrators should take salary cuts, or maybe we should even eliminate some of those administrative positions. No teacher should have to pay for supplies out of pocket.
