Police: Teen Steals $861 Worth of Hair Products from CVS

A 17-year-old Queens resident is due in court in January to answer criminal charges of stealing hair care products from CVS in Yorktown back in August, Yorktown police said. 

Police did not release the name of the teen, who was charged with petty larceny, a misdemeanor. 

Investigation revealed the teen had stolen $861.79 worth of hair products from the CVS store, located at 2000 Commerce Street in Yorktown, on Aug. 16, police said. Police identified the teen as the suspect and when initial attempts to locate the teen were unsuccessful, police applied for an arrest warrant.

NYPD officers learned of the arrest warrant out of Yorktownw when the teen was arrested on unrelated charges on Dec. 21. The following day, Yorktown police officer Sage and detective Tausz went to Queens and took custody of the teen. 

The teen was released to a family member after posting $2,500 bail and scheduled to appear in Yorktown Town Court on Jan. 3, 2013.
