Police: Stolen Shirts from Macy's and Sears; Graffiti on Electrical Boxes in Yorktown

Man Conceals 2 Shirts Under his Shirt 

A 20-year-old Mahopac man has been arrested for stealing two undershirts, Yorktown police said. 

Daniel J. Ponte was charged with petty larceny, a misdemeanor. Police said on Oct. 4 at about 2:30 p.m. they were dispatched to Sears on a theft compliant. Investigation revealed Ponte had concealed two polo undershirts, valued at $46, under his shirt and exited the store without paying for them.

Police said the man got into a vehicle and left the area prior to police arrival.

Ponte was scheduled to appear in court on Nov. 8.

Man Removes Tag from Shirt, Exits Store Without Paying

Police investigating a theft complaint at Macy's have arrested a 22-year-old Putnam Valley man in connection to the incident. 

Michael A. Vallo was charged with petty larceny, misdemeanor.

He removed the tags from a Champion sweatshirt, valued at $16.98, put the sweatshirt on and exited the store without paying for the item, Yorktown police said.

Vallo was arrested, transported to police headquarters and released after posting 200 bail. He was scheduled to appear in Yorktown Town Court on Nov. 8. 

Yorktown Man Spray Paints Graffiti

A 19-year-old Yorktown man has been arrested for making graffiti on electrical boxes owned by ConEd, Yorktown police said.

Police saw the graffiti on Sept. 7. Investigation by police officer Pietraniello, Detective Brian Shanahan and town of Carmel police officer Kunze, they revealed Michaei Scotti Jr. to have spray painted the electrical boxes. He was charged with making graffiti, a misdemeanor.

The man voluntarily surrendered himself to police on Oct. 3. He was scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 23.
