Police: Mohegan Lake Bartender Arrested for Serving Underage Patrons in Pleasantville

A 23-year-old Mohegan Lake man along with another bartender at Paulies Bar & Grill in Pleasantville were arrested early Friday morning after an undercover police investigation revealed they were serving customers under age 21, the Pleasantvlle Police Department said. 

Zachary Badame, 23, of Mohegan Lake, and Catherine Hicks, 23, ofMonroe, were arrested and charged with Unlawfully Dealing with a Child in the First Degree and Prohibited Sale of an Alcoholic Beverage.

"During the early morning hours of March 22, 2013, the Pleasantville Police in conjunction with the Westchester County DA’s Investigators and New York State Liquor Authority conducted a license premise check of “Paulies Restaurant” located at 14 Marble Avenue," police said in a statement.

The investigation took place after the department reported receiving"numerous complaints concerning underage consumption of alcoholic beverages and the existence of a disorderly premise," police said.

At approximately 2 a.m. Friday morning, police said out of the 150 patrons at Paulies, 30 were under 21.

"Undercover investigators witnessed alcohol sales to persons under the age of twenty-one which resulted in the arrest of two bartenders," police said.

Badame and Hicks were processed at police headquarters and released on their own recognizance. They are due back in court on April 16.

Police noted, "The Pleasantville Police will continue to aggressively monitor all licensed establishments within this jurisdiction in an effort to ensure that the safety of our citizens and especially the youth of our community are of the utmost importance."
