Police Issue 77 Tickets at FDR Park Entrance

It's the second time in a week state troopers have targeted the park to catch folks who don't use seatbelts.

Most of the summonses issued today at the Route 202 entrance to FDR Park were given to a driver because the kids in the car weren't wearing seatbelts.

Last weekend, state troopers issued 61 tickets there.

On July 20, 2013 between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., the New York State Police conducted an Occupant Safety Enforcement Detail at the entrance of FDR Park in the Town of Yorktown.  The State Police issued a total of 77 tickets, the majority for child restraint violations.  Ensuring highway safety is a State Police mission priority.  The roadways are made safer through vehicle and traffic enforcement and education, reducing deaths, injuries and property damage, resulting from motor vehicle accidents.
