Mohegan Lake Man, 18, Accused of Stealing Jewelry from Family Members

Brandon Berlow was charged with fourth-degree grand larceny, a felony, and second-degree criminal contempt, a misdemeanor.

An 18-year-old Mohegan Lake man is due in court tonight to answer charges that he allegedly stole jewelry belonging to family members, said. 

Brandon Berlow was charged with fourth-degree grand larceny, a felony, and second-degree criminal contempt, a misdemeanor. Berlow was arrested Friday night when police responded to a Cedar Pond Lane home on a report of a male "acting out of control."

Police said the defendant had allegedly stolen more than $1,000 worth of jewelry belonging to his family members. In addition, Brandon also allegedly violated an order of protection that was in place against him.

He was remanded to Westchester County Jail and scheduled to appear in on May 1.

First of all, I don't understand why teachers are paying for anything out of pocket when the supplyRead More lists that parents receive at the end of the summer are as long as their arms. Secondly, SOCIETY lets the kids down?!?!? I think the school taxes in Yorktown should be sufficient so that the teachers don't have to pay any out-of-pocket expenses. SOCIETY does not let the kids down, it is those who are in control of the school tax monies who let the kids down. Perhaps the administrators should take salary cuts, or maybe we should even eliminate some of those administrative positions. No teacher should have to pay for supplies out of pocket.
