Man Attempts to Withdraw $3,500 From Another Person's Bank Account

Jeffrey Delossantos allegedly assumed the identity of a TD Bank account holder and attempted to withdraw $3,500 in cash from a bank teller.

A 26-year-old Bronx man is due in today to answer charges that he allegedly attempted to withdraw thousands of dollars from another person's bank account.

On March 17, Yorktown police responded to a report of an identity theft at the TD Bank in Jefferson Valley.

Investigation revealed Jeffrey Delossantos allegedly assumed the identity of a TD Bank account holder and attempted to withdraw $3,500 in cash from a bank teller. He was unsuccessful when the bank teller became suspicious.

The defendant was also in possession of an allegedly forged New Jersey driver's license, police said. 

Delossantos was placed under arrest and transported to police headquarters for processing. He was charged with first-degree attempted identity theft and second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument, both felonies. Officer Michael Pietraniello made the arrest.

The defendant was remanded to the Westchester County Jail in lieu of $75,000 bail and scheduled to appear in court on March 20.
