Assault Reported in Yorktown Woods; 18-year-old Arrested

Police were called at 5:39 p.m. May 14 to a wooded area off Greenwood Street, where a resident of Springhurst Street said she had just been assaulted by another Yorktown resident.

Officers Timothy Kolkman and Michael Woodard investigated.

The 18-year-old is alleged to have repeatedly punched and kicked the victim, fracturing her nose and cutting her face.

Judge Raniolo issued a temporary Order of Protection and sent the woman to Westchester County Jail on $500 bail. She is due back in Yorktown town court May 27.

The "Patch" employee who labeled this story as a "fight" between two girls needs to read his/her own article! According to your story, this was an ASSAULT!! - a "Fight" is when two - or more people actually participate (in the fight). There is a HUGE difference between a fight and an assault!

Bob, that's a good point. I have changed the headline.

Very true- I was walking my dogs on the bike path when this occurred. The young woman that was attacked was covered in blood, the girl who attacked her was completely fine. Not a fight at all.
