Facebook Post Investigation Leads to Lakeland Student's Arrest

A 17-year-old Yorktown resident—whose name is being withheld due to his eligibility for Youthful Offender Status—is charged with Criminal Possession Of A Weapon In The Fourth Degree, a Class A Misdemeanor.

According to police, on March 12 School Resource Officer Lawrence Paniccia conducted an investigation at Lakeland High School in reference to photos of illegal drugs and weapons which were allegedly posted on Facebook by a Lakeland High School student.  

As a result the 17-year-old was found to be in possession of a metal knuckles knife while attending school.

He was arrested at the scene by Officer Paniccia and taken to police headquarters. After being processed he was released to his parent and is due in Town Court April 15.
