Cortlandt Man, 37, Dies After Being Pinned Under Truck in Yorktown

A Cortlandt Manor man died on Tuesday in Yorktown after he was pinned under a truck he was working on, Yorktown police said this morning. 

Jose Reinoso, 37, was working at a rented garage located at 2990 Navajo Street, police said. Yorktown Police Lt. Kevin Soravilla said workers the area saw him under the truck and immediately went to help. The truck was jacked up and the man was pulled from underneath, police said.

The incident was reported at around 6:45 p.m. on Aug. 20

Reinoso was treated at the scene and transported by Mohegan Volunteer Ambulance to the Hudson Valley Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

At this time the cause of death is under investigation by the Yorktown Police Department Detective Division in conjunction with the Westchester County Medical Examiner’s Office, The United States Department of Labor (OSHA) Occupational Safety & Health Administration is also conducting an investigation.
