A 48-year-old Yorktown woman is due in court later this month to answer charges that she forged a personal check belonging to another resident, police said.
Joanne M. Youngs was arrested on Jan. 7 and charged with second-degree forgery, a felony; and petty larceny, a misdemeanor.
Police said investigation revealed that Youngs had stolen a personal check from a Ferncrest Road resident on Dec. 17 and forged it. Police did not give any further details about the forgery.
The woman was served with a temporary order of protection and released without bail. She was scheduled to appear in Yorktown Town Court on Jan. 28.
