Cops: Yorktown Teen Causes Concussion, Injuries to Another Teen

The teen, 16, repeatedly punched the victim while at the Jack DeVito Park, police said.

A 16-year-old teen is due in court next week to answer criminal charges for repeatedly punching another teen, Yorktown police said.

The incident occurred on May 3 at about 7:30 p.m. at the Jack DeVito Park, at 300 Veterans Road in Yorktown. The victim, who appeared at police headquarters that same night to report the assault, said he was repeatedly punched. 

Police said the victim suffered a concussion and contusions to chest and ribs.

The next day, the 16-year-old teen, whose name police did not release, voluntarily surrendered to police. He was charged with third-degree assault, a misdemeanor.

He was served with a temporary order of protection and released. He was scheduled to appear in Yorktown Town Court on May 14.
