Cops: Yorktown Man, 64, Runs Red Light, Charged with DWI

A routine check of Bernard D. Kelly's driver's license revealed it was suspended and revoked for alcohol related offenses, police said.

A 64-year-old Yorktown man faces a number of criminal charges for drunken driving after he was stopped for running a red light, police said.

Police pulled over Bernard D. Kelly on Feb. 20 at about 12:35 p.m. and revealed he was driving while intoxicated.

A routine check of his driver’s license revealed it was suspended and revoked for alcohol related offenses, police said. 

Kelly was charged with first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, a felony; driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor; driving with a blood alcohol level of more than .08, percent, a misdemeanor; and the traffic infractions of passing a red light and expired inspection.

Kelly was released on $250 cash bail and was scheduled to appear in Yorktown Town Court on March 21.
