Cops: Woman Steals $2 Cigar, Punches Yorktown Clerk

A 21-year-old Brooklyn woman is facing a felony charge for stealing a cigar and punching a Yorktown clerk who tried to stop her, police said. 

Police received a call on Oct. 20 from a clerk employee at the Courtesy Mobil gas station located, located at 1770 E. Main Street in Mohegan Lake, about the incident. Investigation revealed Shanta M. Stewart stole a cigar valued at $2.35 and punched the clerk when he attempted to stop her.

Stewart was arrested and charged with third-degree robbery, a felony. 

The woman was processed at police headquarters and held for arraignment.
