Cops: Woman, Arrested Twice in 1 Week, Narrowly Misses Collision with State Trooper

A 54-year-old Pawling woman is facing charges—for the second time in a week—after almost hitting a police patrol car head-on, striking a guiderail and passing over it into an embankment, authorities say.

Cops lodged a misdemeanor charge of driving while ability impaired by drugs against Christina Fay in connection with the incident. It occurred on Route 22 in Patterson, near the Carriage House restaurant, at about 2:55 p.m. Monday. 

No one was injured in the crash, which resulted in the 2011 Honda Pilot Fay was driving hitting a telephone pole. Officials at the Southeast Barracks of the New York State Police said Fay's coordination was slowed and her speech was slurred. Results of a toxicology screening are pending.

In an unrelated incident, State Police in Somers arrested Fay at about 3:40 p.m. Thursday. She was driving on southbound Interstate 684 in North Salem when she allegedly rear-ended another vehicle. That car's driver, a 53-year-old Patterson man, was transported via ambulance to Northern Westchester Hospital because of back, neck and shoulder pain, according to authorities.

Fay is facing another count of the same charge in connection with that accident. In both cases she was released pending future court appearances.

She is due Jan. 15 in Patterson Justice Court and Jan. 14 in North Salem Justice Court.
