Cops: Teen Steals $100 from TJ Maxx in Yorktown

The information was provided by the Yorktown Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

An 18-year-old Mahopac male is facing a misdemeanor charge for stealing $100 from TJ Maxx in Yorktown, police said.

The teen, whose name police did not release, was charged with petty larceny, a misdemeanor. Police said the theft occurred on Dec. 30, 2012 and the teen was arrested on Jan. 17, 2013. 

The man was released and scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 28.

Marijuana Possession at BOCES

An 18-year-old Brewster man was found in possession of marijuana at the BOCES Fox Meadow campus where he is a student, Yorktown police said. 

The teen, whose name police did not release, was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation. Police said the teen had marijuana in his bag on Dec. 18, 2012. 

He was scheduled to appear in the Yorktown Town Court on Jan. 17.

First of all, I don't understand why teachers are paying for anything out of pocket when the supplyRead More lists that parents receive at the end of the summer are as long as their arms. Secondly, SOCIETY lets the kids down?!?!? I think the school taxes in Yorktown should be sufficient so that the teachers don't have to pay any out-of-pocket expenses. SOCIETY does not let the kids down, it is those who are in control of the school tax monies who let the kids down. Perhaps the administrators should take salary cuts, or maybe we should even eliminate some of those administrative positions. No teacher should have to pay for supplies out of pocket.
