Cops: Mohegan Lake Man Had 31 Grams of Marijuana in Vehicle

A 20-year-old Mohegan Lake man, who was stopped for speeding on Route 6, is facing criminal charges for being in possession of marijuana, Yorktown police said.

The man was arrested on Oct. 3 at around 10:10 p.m. Police said he was seen traveling at "a high rate of speed" on Route 6 and after he was stopped, police revealed he was in possession of 31 grams of marijuana.

The Mohegan Lake man was charged with fifth-degree criminal possession of marijuana, a misdemeanor.

He was released without bail and scheduled to appear in Yorktown Town Court on Nov. 12.
