Cops Arrest Jefferson Valley Mall Employee Who Entered Store After Closing Hours

A 25-year-old Mount Vernon man is facing criminal charges in Yorktown for trespassing a store in the Jefferson Valley Mall after store hours, police said.

Police said the owner of Auntie Anne’s Pretzels reported earlier this year that an unidentified man was seen on surveillance video entering the store on Feb. 14 at 3 a.m.

Investigation revealed the man was a mall employee. After being unable to located him, an arrest warrant was issued for his arrest, police said.

On Aug. 8, the man voluntarily appeared at Yorktown police headquarters when he was arrested. He was charged with third-degree criminal trespass, a misdemeanor.

The man was released and scheduled to appear in Yorktown Town Court on Sept. 5.
