The body of Gary McKeon, who went missing from his Somers home May 9, has been found.

He was found in the woods between Boniello Drive and Route 202.

New York State Police said state troopers in Somers in conjunction with the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation Police, NYS Forest Rangers, Town of Somers Police and Somers Fire Department located the body of Gary McKeon at about 1:15 p.m. May 15 .

An extensive search, one of several conducted since Mr. McKeon was reported missing, was underway when McKeon was spotted by an area worker passing through a wooded area off State Route 202 in Somers, who alerted searchers.

Countless local citizens also did their part by volunteering to assist with ground searches and displaying missing person fliers.

No signs of foul play suspected and the cause of death is pending autopsy.
