5-Year-Old Girl Revived After Falling into Pool at Yorktown Home [Video]

Child transported to the Hudson Valley Hospital Center.

A 5-year-old girl is reported to be in stable condition after she was pulled from a pool at a Yorktown home Friday afternoon, said.

Several kids playing at a residential pool party on Rustic Ridge Court in Yorktown noticed the girl, who police said is from the Bronx, was floating under the water.

The child's parents pulled her out of the pool and a police officer started performing CPR when he arrived at the home, officials said. Two members of the and two Empress Yorktown paramedics arrived at the home and continued to perform advanced life support measures.

The child was transferred to the Hudson Valley Hospital and has since been revived. She is now at the Westchester Medical Center's pediatric intensive care unit due to the seriousness of her condition, officials said.

"The important thing is [the child] is stable," Yorktown Police Lt. Kevin Soravilla told Patch. "We're wishing for the best for the child right now."

The incident occurred at about 12:36 p.m. Responding Yorktown police officers were Larry Eidelman and Matthew Iacona. Responding paramedics were Rich Ulrich and Marcello Cutonili.

Editor's Note: The police reported the girl is 6-year-old, but paramedics reported the girl was 4 or 5 years old.

First of all, I don't understand why teachers are paying for anything out of pocket when the supplyRead More lists that parents receive at the end of the summer are as long as their arms. Secondly, SOCIETY lets the kids down?!?!? I think the school taxes in Yorktown should be sufficient so that the teachers don't have to pay any out-of-pocket expenses. SOCIETY does not let the kids down, it is those who are in control of the school tax monies who let the kids down. Perhaps the administrators should take salary cuts, or maybe we should even eliminate some of those administrative positions. No teacher should have to pay for supplies out of pocket.
