21 Arrested in Heroin Bust, Tied to Two Yorktown Overdoses

Thomas Plant, 22, and Gwendolyn Farrell, 21, found dead in March of a heroin overdose. Police have arrested 21 people who allegedly supplied them with the heroin.

A multi-agency investigation has lead to the arrest of 21 people in a Bronx heroin ring who allegedly sold heroin to the two young Yorktown residents  in March. 

According to a Journal News article, the takedown took place on Oct. 27, the same place in the same Bronx neighborhood from where the heroin that killed , had come. According to the article, in addition to the arrests, nearly 9 pounds of heroin and a cache of firearms were seized.

Plant and Farrell were in her parents' home on Hanover Street on March 26. Police said they found five packets of heroin in the bedroom.

 as a passionate young woman, who was adventurous, sweet, loving, and had a vivacious personality and free spirit. They told Patch, she was a talented musician who had been awarded two music scholarships. 

Plant has been described by his family as a talented guitar player who wrote short stories and poems. He had been studying computers at Westchester Community College, according to The Journal News

First of all, I don't understand why teachers are paying for anything out of pocket when the supplyRead More lists that parents receive at the end of the summer are as long as their arms. Secondly, SOCIETY lets the kids down?!?!? I think the school taxes in Yorktown should be sufficient so that the teachers don't have to pay any out-of-pocket expenses. SOCIETY does not let the kids down, it is those who are in control of the school tax monies who let the kids down. Perhaps the administrators should take salary cuts, or maybe we should even eliminate some of those administrative positions. No teacher should have to pay for supplies out of pocket.
