My Dad by Chia Salisbury

8-year-old Chia Salisbury about her dad Richard in honor of Father's Day.

  • Editor's Note: The following is a letter written by 8-year-old Chia Salisbury about her dad in honor of Father's Day.

My dad's name is Richard Salisbury. He is awesome because he's super kind. When I'm sad, he cheers me up. He never gives up on me. He's the best! When we go places, he lets me get whatever I like. He always plays with me, and makes the best jokes.

He cheers me on when I'm playing sports. He's always in the mood to play, he loves sports. He always hugs and kisses me before I go to bed. If I'm scared at night, he stays with me. He also likes to go shopping with me. He even gets me lots of Christmas presents.

My dad likes to eat ice cream with me. He's always happy! Whenever I want something to eat or drink, he'll let me have it. He likes to watch TV with me, especially baseball. In the car, my dad can hold my hand while he's in the car and still drive at the same time.

My brother, Robert, likes how his dad helps him throughout life. He helps Robert with his science and math homework whenever he needs it. His dad helps Robert get what he likes. He helps Robert when he's sad. My dad cares about his family. My dad is never angry with me or strict.

I love my dad!

First of all, I don't understand why teachers are paying for anything out of pocket when the supplyRead More lists that parents receive at the end of the summer are as long as their arms. Secondly, SOCIETY lets the kids down?!?!? I think the school taxes in Yorktown should be sufficient so that the teachers don't have to pay any out-of-pocket expenses. SOCIETY does not let the kids down, it is those who are in control of the school tax monies who let the kids down. Perhaps the administrators should take salary cuts, or maybe we should even eliminate some of those administrative positions. No teacher should have to pay for supplies out of pocket.
