Don't Let Bedford Patch Beat Us to 1K Likes

In an attempt to beat Yorktown-Somers Patch to 1,000 likes on Facebook, Bedford-Katonah Patch has issued a challenge.

"And where's Yorktown's , historical , world class ,  and notable ?"

Well, maybe so.

But we, too, have a renowned theater stage, an eatery owned by a caterer to the stars, a historical train station and a museum. They have the little quaint shops and restaurants, we have the , various restaurants, small business shops and big box stores – because in Yorktown you can find just about everything.

They have the Mianus River Gorge Preserve, we have , Teatown Lake Preservation, the North County Trailways,  and dozens of other parks and trails you could hike, bike and enjoy. We've got the athletic fields, winning teams and championship titles.

And what about the people? In this close-knit and vibrant community we've got amazing people, from , volunteers, active community organizations, excellent schools and several  .

Yorktown-Somers Patch and Bedford-Katonah Patch are neck to neck as we edge toward 1,000 'likes' on Facebook.

So, let's show them by beating them to 1,000 fans.

First of all, I don't understand why teachers are paying for anything out of pocket when the supplyRead More lists that parents receive at the end of the summer are as long as their arms. Secondly, SOCIETY lets the kids down?!?!? I think the school taxes in Yorktown should be sufficient so that the teachers don't have to pay any out-of-pocket expenses. SOCIETY does not let the kids down, it is those who are in control of the school tax monies who let the kids down. Perhaps the administrators should take salary cuts, or maybe we should even eliminate some of those administrative positions. No teacher should have to pay for supplies out of pocket.
