From Clark Funeral Home: Robert Mann, a long-time Shrub Oak resident, died on Dec. 16. He was 78.
Mann was the son of Herman and Luella Mann, brother to 14 loving brothers and sisters, and the loving husband of the late Bette Lou Bischoff-Mann. He is survived by his children: Robert Arthur Mann, Tracy Sue Mann-Tegtmeier and her husband Richard Tegtmeier and Gregory Howard Mann.
He is also survived by six grandchildren: Jacob Robert Mann, Taylor “Tate” Nicole Tegtmeier, Kirsten Brooke Tegtmeier, Richard Robert Tegtmeier, Gregory Robert Mann and Isabella Blou Mann, all living in the Westchester County area.
Mann brought his love of life and music to all who knew him. He was proud to be Native American from the Lenne Lenape Tribe. His word was his bond, his handshake was gold and his unwavering loyalty to his family and friends was second to none.
He would tell his children: “Be gentle, there is strength in that.” He loved playing and laughing with his grandchildren, telling them: “Just call me cuz.”
In his final days, he asked his family to tell "everyone that he loved them, and he means everyone.”
He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Calling hours are Friday, Dec. 20 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Clark Funeral Home in Yorktown Heights.
The funeral service is Saturday, Dec. 21 at 10:15 a.m. also at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery in Cortlandt Manor.
