Douglas Kruppenbacher, Lakeland High School Grad, Dies at 49

Douglas Kruppenbacher, of Croton-on-Hudson, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Jan. 21. He was 49. 

Kruppenbacher, a Lakeland High School graduate, was born on Aug. 19, 1964 in Peekskill to Karl and Rosemarie Kruppenbacher. He worked for Metro North Railroad for 19 years.

He maintained his dignity throughout his illness by being brave and courageous. He will also be remembered for being kind and compassionate. He was always there to help others. Being an avid Beatles fan, his favorite song was "All You Need Is Love." Those were words he lived by.

Kruppenbacher is survived by his wife Andrea, his son Daniel, who was the center of his life. He is also survived by his parents, Karl and step mother, Donna, five brothers, David (Ann), Kenneth (Lori), Kevin (Margaret), John (Denise) and Peter (Christine). He was also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his mother Rosemarie and his older brother Karl III.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, Jan. 23 at the Yorktown Funeral Home from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. A mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, Jan. 24 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church at 11:15 a.m.
