Anna Mae White, of Shrub Oak, 83

Anna Mae White of Shrub Oak, formerly of Ardsley, passed away on Sept. 27. She was 83. 

White was born April 30, 1930 in the Bronx to John and Anna Coen. She received her Bachelor’s Degree from the College of New Rochelle and later received two Masters Degrees from the Teachers College at Columbia University. 

She married Joseph M. White on Oct. 18, 1952 and together they lived in Ardsley to raise their family. White etired from teaching in New York City in 1996. 

She is survived by her two daughters Maureen White Gildea (Bill), Linda White Gironda (Robert) and her son James White (Patricia). She is also survived by seven grandchildren Sean, Renaissance, Christopher, Skyler, Cameron, Kathleen, and James. Predeceased by her husband Joseph M. White, her son Joseph Mark White, sister Margaret Flynn, and brother James E. Coen. 

Friends may visit the Yorktown Funeral Home on Tuesday, Oct. 1 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.. Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday, Oct. 2 at St. Patrick’s Church at 10 a.m. Interment to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
