My Brother Vinny Yorktown Heights Charity Group Debut Blog!

Hi everyone! Blogging is very new to me, so I figured I could turn my numerous Facebook posts on community service into something interesting, informative and truly try to get the community involved with helping one another.

My Brother Vinny is Non-Profit organization (pending 501c3 status) in the State of NY, founded in Yorktown Heights, NY dedicated to community based charity work in memory of Vincent Miritello. We run an annual Special Olympics Walk-a-thon (Vincent Miritello Special Olympics Miles for Medals Walk), organize food and clothing drives that help families in need and community based outreach groups that coordinate shelter distribution throughout the county. We assist adult assisted living facilities, local families in distress and help local animal shelters and rescue groups in the aid and support of animal welfare.

Our Motto "Helping mankind one good deed at a time" is what we strive to live for and we focus on providing the emotionally, mentally and physically disabled with a piece of happiness in their everyday lives. Every event we do has a benefit towards helping others and getting people involved. Whether we are delivering gifts to over 140 residents at an adult home or providing gifts to children in low income community centers we strive to spread joy and add a personal touch to everything we do. 

We run many community events and currently have launched “My Brother Vinny Play Time with a Purpose” a monthly FREE program for registrants at Gymboree Play & Music. We combine free play, arts, music and dance and also coordinate donation to animal rescues for every event we have. This is our charity purpose.

We are not limited to our local community, and are spreading our assistance out to all in need. We feel when you help one another the world becomes your family.  Welcome to the My Brother Vinny family!

My Brother Vinny has also recently launched "Adopt a Fire House" with Yorktown Heights Engine Company #1. Where we are helping Breezy Point Fire Houses still in the recovery phase from Hurricane Sandy! Please join our Facebook page "My Brother Vinny" and please feel free to ask my any and all questions! All donations and assistance was a true community effort and we received special help from many local groups such as;  Yorktown Girl Scouts, Gymboree Play & Music and Yorktown Heights Engine Company #1!
