Holiday Sparkle Makeup Workshop in Yorktown – The Recap

I invited some lucky ladies over for cocktails and a makeup demonstration showing them how to take their everyday look into holiday with just a few easy steps.

Two of my favorite things to do is host a fabulous party and teach ladies how to apply makeup with confidence and ease. This past Friday, I combined my two favorite things into one fabulous party and welcomed a houseful of wedding vendors and guests to join me for cocktails, nibbles, and a “Holiday Sparkle” Makeup Workshop!

After a glass of wine and some mingling, I started the demonstration on our beautiful model, Kym, with a quick everyday look that I like to call “The 5 Minute Face.” This look focuses on the five essential beauty products every woman should wear that will help them achieve an even skin tone, defined eyes, and color on the lips and cheeks.

I also showed the group how to brighten and highlight different features with the amazing NYX “Milk” Jumbo Eye Pencil. I then took the look from day to holiday by adding a shimmery highlighter by Nars on the cheekbones and eyes. I then finished off the look with a sheer cherry lip that delivered the perfect pop for any festive event. My new favorite is Baroque Lip Gloss Pencil by Nars.

We were joined by Motives by Estela who was on hand to provide custom blend foundations and concealers, as well as the wonderfully talented Aida Krgin who photographed every detail of the party.

Each guest was sent home with a gift certificate for a complimentary “Makeup Overhaul,” which any and every woman can benefit from! During this service, the client comes to my home-studio and we sort through all of their cosmetics, skin care and makeup tools (brushes, tweezers, etc…). We talk in depth about their particular lifestyle and beauty concerns and I offer personalized product recommendations for any items that need to be replaced, as well as new items that they may be missing.

After the “Makeup Overhaul,” I provide a detailed shopping list of all recommended products including where to find them and how much you should budget for each item. Once the client purchases her new products, she can then schedule a “Lesson in Makeup Application,” so I can teach her how to apply her new and pre-existing products.

Start off 2013 actually using all your makeup that goes untouched because you aren’t sure how to apply it.

Call me at 646-418-5445 to schedule your appointment for a “Makeup Overhaul” and “Lesson in Makeup Application,” so that you too can look and feel your best in the New Year and all the days that follow!

First of all, I don't understand why teachers are paying for anything out of pocket when the supplyRead More lists that parents receive at the end of the summer are as long as their arms. Secondly, SOCIETY lets the kids down?!?!? I think the school taxes in Yorktown should be sufficient so that the teachers don't have to pay any out-of-pocket expenses. SOCIETY does not let the kids down, it is those who are in control of the school tax monies who let the kids down. Perhaps the administrators should take salary cuts, or maybe we should even eliminate some of those administrative positions. No teacher should have to pay for supplies out of pocket.
