Purchase Park 2 Fly: Your Travel Supports Their Journey

Travel is not easy, or inexpensive these days. So what could be better than saving nearly 60% off parking that is also convenient?

Launched two years ago, Purchase Park 2 Fly was an idea first conceived by SUNY Purchase Administrator and Professor Bill Guerraro, then studied, developed and refined by his Entrepreneurship Program.

Purchase Park 2 Fly is a valet parking services that offers steeply discounted off-site parking, utilizing the lots of nearby SUNY Purchase, while conserving resources from the County. Under the 501 c 3 umbrella of Purchase College Association, Purchase Park 2 Fly is a non-profit whose proceeds go the school scholarship program. Their tag line-so perfectly coined by Maggie Guerraro, wife of founder and President Bill Guerraro-says it all: Your Travel Supports Their Journey.

Phil Sanford was one of those students involved in the project, he worked for the start-up upon graduation, and now is the VP of Marketing. According to Phil, this past year they've been parking 150-200 cars daily, up to 300 cars on weekends, and approaching 500 0ver some holidays.

Reserving online, rates are $10.00 per day, as compared to $28.00 per day at the airport. Only 4 miles from the airport, and fully staffed and with free shuttle service 24/7, fliers need allow only minimal extra time to arrive at terminal on time. Cars are kept in open, well-lit lots, patrolled by PP2F staff members, as well as NYS Police that is part of campus security.

Westchester County Airport has come a long way from when it was first built in 1942 to house the Air National Guard, and protect the local water supply. When the long-debated new terminal opened in 1995, many issues were addressed, but others quickly followed.

In the big picture, by utilizing existing parking spaces Purchase Park 2 Fly also conserves county resources, while providing a greener solution for handling ever-increasing airport traffic. In the smaller picture, consumers have less stress, keep more money in their pocket, while helping fund the scholastic future of students.
