Gardiner Cupcake Festival – May, 19, 2012

The Annual Gardiner NY Cupcake festival will be held this Saturday May 19th.

Being a Greek woman married to an Italian man, food is always in the conversation.

This Saturday is expected to be a beautiful day in the Hudson Valley If you are looking for something to do with the family, outdoors (and love cupcakes), you owe it to yourselves to check this festival out.

The Cupcake Festival has moved and can be located this year at Wright's Farm. Mark your GPS to 699 State Rt. 208 (that is about 1 hour from Yorktown). The hours will be 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Last year's vendors were delicious. My personal favorite was a pink lemonade cupcake from Bettie's Double Decker Cupcake Stand. They drove down from Albany to bring that scrumptious treat. I stood on line TWICE for this one. Rumor has it; Bettie will be back.

Not only will you find delectable treats but cupcake accessories. I was able to find cheer megaphones to decorate my own cupcakes from a vendor called, Nanalulu's Linen Closet (yeah, I don't know what that has to do with cupcakes either).

New this year will be four local wineries sampling and selling their finest. Cupcakes... wine... (really, you need another reason).

Come support the sweetest festival in the Hudson Valley.

First of all, I don't understand why teachers are paying for anything out of pocket when the supplyRead More lists that parents receive at the end of the summer are as long as their arms. Secondly, SOCIETY lets the kids down?!?!? I think the school taxes in Yorktown should be sufficient so that the teachers don't have to pay any out-of-pocket expenses. SOCIETY does not let the kids down, it is those who are in control of the school tax monies who let the kids down. Perhaps the administrators should take salary cuts, or maybe we should even eliminate some of those administrative positions. No teacher should have to pay for supplies out of pocket.
