Thirteen Mahopac High School Students Inducted into National Technical Honor Society

They can build, draw, teach, engineer, nurse, repair, cook, bake, protect, film and more. They’ve exhibited skill, scholarship, character, leadership and service.

They are the 83 latest inductees to the National Technical Honor Society at the Putnam/Northern Westchester BOCES’ Tech Center. The new inductees, and graduating seniors who received their honorary shawls, were honored at a ceremony on BOCES’ Yorktown campus Thursday.

“You are being honored for the skills you possess,” said BOCES Superintendent Dr. James Langlois. “But honor is something inside you. It is something at the core of who you are and I would urge you to take the time in quiet and solitude to hold onto that and reflect on it.”

After the ceremony, students and their guests and families enjoyed refreshments prepared by the Culinary Arts program.

“It is great to see the varied talents of these students recognized,” said Kieran O’Leary, whose son, Liam, a student in the Construction Electricity program, was inducted. “They are good students whose talents extend beyond the classroom.”
