Local Boy Makes Good: Mahopac Alum Named Patriot Player of the Week

A major back injury last year didn’t stop Fordham University junior linebacker Victor DiFusco from excelling on the field this year. The 2011 Mahopac High School graduate was named Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week early this month when he lead is team to a 27-24 victory over eighth-ranked Villanova.

DiFusco, a star athlete at Mahopac High School, played in 11 games as a freshman at Fordham before suffering a back injury that led him to miss the 2012 season. 

 While at Mahopac High School he was identified as one of the Top 100 football players in New York; was named an All-State, All-Section and All-League pick; and was named Lineman of the Year. His former coach at Mahopac High School, Tom Donahoe, said Victor is
