5 Tips to Efficient Scrapbooking!
Everybody is super busy, which is the first reason why most people feel like they can't scrapbook! But follow these simple steps and you'll be able to scrapbook with the 15-20 minutes have to spare. Build your scrapbook to show off to everybody!
I hear this all the time, where do you find the time to sit and scrapbook? The answer is easy: I make time for it and I follow 5 easy steps to make scrapbooking efficient.
I'll spend my weekend mornings working on new pages, but for some people, I know, you're still busy during those times. Follow these few tips and making a scrapbook page in a half hour or even 15 minutes will be easy and fun! Before you know it, you'll have a gorgeous collection of scrapbook pages to make up your complete scrapbook. Your family and friends will be in awe!
Tip 1: Have your pictures printed and ready!
I have tons of scrapbooks and I choose my absolute favorite pictures from events to show off on a page. The rest of the pictures I keep in a regular photo album to look through when ever I want. So choose the few pictures you want to show case and order them. You'll get a sense of how many pages you'll want to make for an event too. I stash them in either a photo box or a picture organizers so when I need them, they're ready for me!
Tip 2: Stock up on supplies!
First off, pop into your local craft store and pick up a variety of paper, stickers, decorations and more. Stock up on birthday, holiday and seasonal paper. Don't forget to grab a variety pack of solid paper so you can dress up a solid page or tame a wild printed paper! You can buy paper in all sorts of sizes, even the perfect size to mat your pictures with little to no cutting! Pick up the same variety of stickers and decorations too. You'll be ready to tackle any event when you're ready!
Tip 3: Get the right glue.
I am a huge fan of glue dots and glue lines. You'll be able to stick them on your pages and pictures quick, easy and with no mess! When you have limited time you can stick them and put them right away if you need too. You don't have to worry about needing to wait for a page to dry because it'll already be done. There's no mess for you which means no clean up! Bonus!
Tip 4: Keep it organized!
There are many ways to organize your scrapbooking items. I would suggest taking a little bit of time to do it right. That way when you have the few minutes to spare, finding your pictures, paper, stickers, markers and more won't take up all your time! You'll be able to focus on actually making your page rather than scramble for what you need. You can buy a mini accordion folder that fits your pictures perfectly and a larger one for your paper. You can store your your pictures by occasion with a note with what event it is and what you might want to say. Your craft stores will have different options to store your paper too. You can keep them all in one place! You can grab, scrapbook and go. Check out other storage options your craft store has too to see what works best for you and the space you have.
Tip 5: Don't feel rushed and enjoy it!
Even if you're squeezing in making a scrapbook page into your busy, busy day, don't feel rushed or like it's a chore. Enjoy turning your vision into something magical on a page. Allow it to be time for yourself because you deserve to do something awesome that you'll be proud of!
Being prepared, organized and excited to scrapbook will help keep you efficient during your busy life. Remember, you can take the 20 minutes to make a basic page and then when you get more time, add details! You can always go back to add more once you've begun. As you get more comfortable with cutting pictures, laying out pages and thinking of the perfect caption, you'll be able to whip up a page in no time! Don't get discouraged either, anything you make will be gorgeous!
