Not only are competitors coming from Stamford and New York City, local businesses are also coming together for the inaugural Karate Tournament to benefit Community Cares, a a non profit organization with a network of volunteers and businesses whose main goal is to support families in medical crisis.
Hosted by Jim Smith Karate in Yorktown Heights, several local businesses have committed to helping support this great event.
“We are so excited to support a wonderful organization dedicated to helping people in our community”, said Lori Miley, the Program Director at Jim Smith Karate. “It’s great to see the businesses in our area come out to make this an even greater event”.
Some of the local businesses supporting the event include:
- King Kone of Somers, NY, will have an ice cream truck at the event.
- Grand Central Market of Baldwin Place, NY, is the food vendor.
- Cutting Edge Hair Salon in Yorktown Heights, NY, has donated gift cards.
Over 85 competitors from New York City, Connecticut, Putnam and Westchester have registered and will compete on Saturday.
