Sweet Paprika to Do Cooking Demo, Students Give Free Massages!

Stock up on nutritious, delicious foods for outdoor meals on this beautiful weekend

There's lots to check out at this week's farmers' market. Phyllis Kirigin of Croton, aka Sweet Paprika, will be showing shoppers how to use beautiful market produce to make elegant summer rolls.

Having studied under THE James Beard, she is an encyclopedia of culinary knowledge. Stop by the manager's tent at 10am to watch her demo and get a tasting sample!

We will also feature students of the Finger Lakes School of Massage in Mt. Kisco who will be giving free massages to shoppers. Let them help melt your stressful week away and start your weekend right. Look for them at 11:30 a.m.

The market is pleased to welcome a new local vendor: Blossom Nurseries! They will bring amazing tomato plants, already blooming pepper plants, as well as annual and perennial flowers and plants. Come see why they are one of the most highly regarded nurseries around.

After you sample, shop, and get a massage, come have lunch under the pavilion at the Market Bistro.

Don't forget to stop by the COW tent to see the progress the Playground Committee from has made in their drive to raise enough money to replace the playground at the school.

First of all, I don't understand why teachers are paying for anything out of pocket when the supplyRead More lists that parents receive at the end of the summer are as long as their arms. Secondly, SOCIETY lets the kids down?!?!? I think the school taxes in Yorktown should be sufficient so that the teachers don't have to pay any out-of-pocket expenses. SOCIETY does not let the kids down, it is those who are in control of the school tax monies who let the kids down. Perhaps the administrators should take salary cuts, or maybe we should even eliminate some of those administrative positions. No teacher should have to pay for supplies out of pocket.
