Rescheduled Opening of Market Bistro plus Teen Center Entertainment

Market news: market bistro, Kristine Koller, plant sale and more

This Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. the Yorktown Farmers' Market will feature a performance by Kristina Koller from the , and a fundraising plant sale.

Due to the rainy weather last week, the Market Bistro opening was delayed until this Saturday. Have a tasty hot lunch made from market fresh ingredients while sitting under the pavillion before or after you shop!

Be sure to visit our meat vendor Dines Farm to pick up some hot dogs, chicken, or pork for the grill this weekend. They also have delicious shiitake and oyster mushrooms that you can serve as a side or meatless main dish!

Also say hello to our newest vendor, Fresh From Vermont. Cory (pictured) sells jams, peanut butters (my favorite is the Bee-nut butter flavored with honey) and the most delicious maple syrup. Stop by his tent for a free sample!

First of all, I don't understand why teachers are paying for anything out of pocket when the supplyRead More lists that parents receive at the end of the summer are as long as their arms. Secondly, SOCIETY lets the kids down?!?!? I think the school taxes in Yorktown should be sufficient so that the teachers don't have to pay any out-of-pocket expenses. SOCIETY does not let the kids down, it is those who are in control of the school tax monies who let the kids down. Perhaps the administrators should take salary cuts, or maybe we should even eliminate some of those administrative positions. No teacher should have to pay for supplies out of pocket.
