Choose the Right Summer Opportunities for Your Child –Tip #3

Top 10 topics to discuss when choosing the right summer opportunity for your child continues with tip# 3

Choosing the right summer opportunity for your child is a process. In today’s economy we need to make sure we are choosing a program that has both economic and emotional value. Topic Tip #3 guides you through a helpful thought process to access value.

Topic Tip #3

Cost- We all know that price matters! Ensure that you are comparing apples to apples when looking at programs (we all agree that the welfare of your children is not the place to cut costs).

What is included in the base price? Are there a la carte fees? What is the program’s overall value (not simply financially but programmatically and emotionally)?

First of all, I don't understand why teachers are paying for anything out of pocket when the supplyRead More lists that parents receive at the end of the summer are as long as their arms. Secondly, SOCIETY lets the kids down?!?!? I think the school taxes in Yorktown should be sufficient so that the teachers don't have to pay any out-of-pocket expenses. SOCIETY does not let the kids down, it is those who are in control of the school tax monies who let the kids down. Perhaps the administrators should take salary cuts, or maybe we should even eliminate some of those administrative positions. No teacher should have to pay for supplies out of pocket.
