Yorktown Holds Interfaith Thanksgiving Celebration

Yorktown's community Thanksgiving Interfaith Service was held at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church in Shrub Oak on Nov. 26. 

"Thank you for taking valuable family time to gather with us," a program read. "We are especially grateful to the Yorktown Clergy and their congregants, who work hard, and in concert, to meet the many needs of our community and beyond in the light of faith."

Msgr. Thomas Sandi, of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, hosted the event and welcomed guests.

Among the attendees were Msgr. Thomas Sandi , Rev. Paul Tesshin Silverman, Rev. Matthew Mead, Rev. Paul Johnsen, O. Jamal, Islam Giwida, Mohamed Menawi, Rev. Claire Woodley, Jamie Tortorella-Allen, Rabbi Robert Weiner (of Temple Beth Am). 

The Rev. Paul Tesshin Silverman, of Abbot, Tetsugyuji Zen Temple, Japan, delivered a message from President Barack Obama. Cantor Jamie Tortorella-Allen, of Temple Beth Am, delivered the sermon. Rev. Eugene Ott, of St. Andrew Lutheran Church in Yorktown, delivered the benediction.
